Received 2 Emails

I’m bursting at the seams to tell you the news!
Today I received 2 incredible emails. One sent without any warning.

•    Beyond Blue messaged me that YES, an excerpt from Me and Her: a Memoir of Madness will be published on their website soon, in the category of BIPOLAR DISORDER … Share your stories. I was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder 4 years ago, triggered by stress and anxiety …  I’ll let you know the launch date ASAP.

•    A Publisher emailed me unexpectedly. Somehow they had discovered my website and loved my pro-active approach in finding a Publisher. (I have been Tweeting about my quest on Twitter on a regular basis leaving my http.) They requested I email my full manuscript to them straight away along with my Book Proposal, which I did within the hour. This is almost unheard of in the Publishing Industry!  The Senior Editor said she’ll respond within 2-3 weeks … WOW!

It’s hard to contain my excitement with NEWS like that. Couldn’t wait to Friday to tell you the News!

This afternoon I’ve paced the floors and rang friends and family with my speech speeding up, blurting the news. And I’m writing like Crazy! All classic signs of Hypomania but in my case the symptoms will only be temporary. But I’ll enjoy the buzz while I can.

… But YAY!!

Well done and Congrats – the universe works in weird and wonderful ways.

  • Karen, that’s incredible news! The Beyond Blue response was exciting enough, but then to be approached by a Publisher … just amazing! It’s lovely to get such positive feedback, and to know that your voice and story are shining through you blog.

Good luck keeping distracted over the next few weeks – it’s going to be a tough wait. Just keep writing (that’s my motto, too).

  • Totally awesome news. Good on you, girl. Didn’t I tell you that the book already has a place and is just waiting for the world to catch up. Seems so. Congrats – keep busy and enjoying the buzz. It’s all part of the big picture journey you have toiled so hard to achieve. Sending good vibes your way with a subliminal chant of ‘Publisher, publisher…”

  • That’s amazing! I’m so excited for you!! Wow. A publisher contacting you??! I’m sooooo impressed. And I am also delighted that you are working with Beyond Blue. There are a few people I love with all my heart who have suffered from mental illness and I take my hat off to you for being willing to put yourself out there and change the world 🙂 Blessings.

  • Don’t worry about your sped up speech in this instance. Behaviour normal. That is to be expected in the circumstances. I feel your thrill and excitement. Excellent!!

fantastic news karen, you are an inspiration 🙂

  • You’re an inspiration Karen. Success comes to those who go out and seek it, who work for it, instead of waiting for it to come to them. Congratulations on achieving so much already.

  • That is brilliant, Karen. I’ll continue to keep my fingers crossed. My father has Bipolar and so I know how rotten it can be. He actually has cancer now and says he would prefer the cancer to the Bipolar. It’s a terrible thing to have. xx
