Books by Karen Tyrrell Author of the Month

During November, teachers and kids read my superhero books: Song Bird Superhero and Song Bird 2 The Battle of Bug World. Rosie Bird, half-girl half-bird, activates her superpowers when she sings and tinkers with science.

Kids read my picture books Harry Helps Grandpa, Bailey Beats the Blah and my Super Space Kids/ Jo-Kin  Series.

I’m so honored MOSCHC gave me recognition as a Brisbane children’s author.

What a great initiative from this fabulous after school care establishment. Honouring and recognising local children authors in this way gets the kids interested in reading and increases their awareness of the power of words and books. Well done Karen and thank you Kim

  • Thanks Steve, for coming along with me today to hand over a load of books to Kim from MOSCH.
I totally commend this initiative from MOSHC in encouraging kids to read and featuring a local author they can get to know. Love to visit MOSHC in 2018.
    Many thanks, Karen 🙂

Thankyou so much for the nice write up. The children, parents and staff were excited to get the books signed and only a few days after their order. I look forward to donating a set of your books to the Manly State School library istomorrow when I see the librarian. I didn’t want the Preps to miss out either so they get to have “Bailey Beats the Blah!” The children decided themselves that they wanted a Bookclub and come up with all the Authors and ideas for activities themselves. They chose Roald Dahl, J.K.Rowling now Karen Tyrrell. I look forward to seeing their ideas for next year.

  • Hi Kim,
Thanks SO much for the wonderful support you’ve given me and my books.
Thanks too for clarifying the process whereby the kids chose the authors for the Book Club… JK Rowling, Roald Dahl, and me Karen Tyrrell Seems surreal to have our names mentioned in the same sentence lol … Karen 🙂

  • How fabulous, Karen. It’s great to see your books getting the recognition they deserve – from their intended audience. Well done! Also great to see the MOSHC encouraging reading. 🙂

  • Hi Norah,
Thanks for being a great friend and for championing my books on your Readilearn website.
YES, I loved connecting with these kids and teachers in a real way through my books … Karen 🙂
