WOOHOO! I’m bug eyed with bliss over my BIO and gutsy life story published in Bug in a Book children’s writing website this week … Thank you Angela Hall for your invitation to contribute to your eMag.
Bug in a Book celebrates children’s literature and features book reviews, author of the month, writing competitions, author events, Bug Kids Club, parent and teacher articles. What a fantastic resource on children’s writing!!
Over the last few months Angela Hall, manager director of Bug in a Book and I became supportive Facebook buddies.
Finally we met face-to-face two weeks ago at a Logan writers Coffee Club meet and then at Karen Collum’s picture book launch at Marks and Gardner Gallery, Mount Tamborine two weekends ago.
Ang Hall invited me to write my BIO for Bug in a Book eMag with a mental health edge.
She wanted to know how my struggle with bipolar disorder and recovery impacted on my children’s writing and how I’d become a mental health advocate … It’s all about balance.
Please check out Bug in a Book’s eMag and my BIO and mental health report ‘Balance your Life’ … http://bugnewsfeb11.moonfruit.com/#/karen-tyrell-balance-your-li/4548021984
How do you keep your life in balance and still have time for writing?
Congratulations Karen on scoring this fabulous opportunity to publish your story in this mag. Hope there’s many more coming your way.
Thanks Fiona,
When Ang invited me to contribute to her mag …I felt chuffed. Its fabulous to be a part of a magazine which is respected in the Children’s Writing world :))

More wonderful news! You’ve obviously made some terrific contacts through Facebook, Karen. I’m so happy for you. Your bio just keeps getting bigger and better. 😉
Thanks Debbie,
I’m so lucky to have made such terrific contacts and friends via Facebook. You being one of them:)) I’m pleased how my printed life-story turned out and the positive feedback I’ve received. I wait with bated breath for my next opportunity :))
Karen, sure, it’s simple, writing for kids . . . Just as simple as bringing them up.
You must write for children in the same way as you do for adults, only better.
Yes, I agree. Children are discerning readers. They want a story that grabs their attention, entertains and wants them begging for more … Karen :))
Congratulations Karen.
Three stories published in a week. That’s a WOW factor. No wonder you are riding high

Thanks Lexie,
I couldn’t believe it myself, how they three stories all ended up being published in the same week. Bug in a Book and Divine requested them a month ago. I’m using The Law of Attraction to keep up the momentum :))
